Expect omelettes, English breakfast, and jacket (baked) potatoes with cups of tea to be served here all for low prices. Beck's Cafe (28 Red Lion Street, WC1R 4) Popular with taxi drivers ('cabbies'), this greasy spoon (diner) is a local favourite for homey food including English breakfasts at low prices. Cafe Kozzy is located across the street and is an alternative if it is busy. Cafe Oz (53 Caledonian Road, N1 9BU) Serves traditional English breakfasts, sandwiches, and other hot food all for a cheap price. Gig's Fish and Chips (12 Tottenham St, W1T 4RE) You can choose to sit down to sample this fish-and-chips restaurant close to the Academic Centre, but it will be cheaper to take away. |

A good value, traditional eel pie-and-mash shop (cafe). You can have other fillings like beef if you don't want any eel! Newman Arms (23 Rathbone Street, W1T 1NG) A pub which has a well known 'Pie Room' upstairs where you can get traditional home-baked British (savoury) pies located close to the Academic Centre. The North Sea Fish Restaurant (7-8 Leigh Street, WC1H 9EW) A fish-and-chips restaurant north of the Brunswick Centre where you can dine-in or takeaway, in the separate section, for cheaper. |
